Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library Foundation
Pagosa Springs is home to the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library. The Ruby Sisson Library serves all of Archuleta County and Parts of Hinsdale and Mineral Counties as well. It is a wonderful, small town library, but like many, it looks to grow to better serve the population. To that end, the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library Foundation, a newly formed 501c3 nonprofit, was launched in 2019. The primary goal of the Foundation is the expansion of the library both in terms of physical space and programming offered.
It was my distinct pleasure to work with the members of the founding Foundation Board of Directors to design a worthy identity for this endeavor.
The primary mark is an illustration of the Pagosa Skyrocket, a rare flower indigenous only to Pagosa Springs – it grows within a 20-mile radius of the intersection of Highway 160 and Highway 84. It is a precious resource that needs to be protected for generations. Like the flower, libraries are a precious resource that also deserves our respect and protection. It was a fitting choice for the brand mark.
